Field Surveying

The field surveying working group is made up of organizations and community members who monitor, visit and document threatened places in order to advocate for their protection. Members of the working group visit forests slated for logging and use observations found in the field to engage in public timber sale processes and sometimes win protections for special places. The working group is a resource-hub, space to share stories from the field, and recruit support for on-the-ground timber sale campaigns. Members of the working group are creating a community photo repository project to document destructive logging happening on public lands, and are providing trainings and resources to those looking to start field survey programs in their neck of the woods.
